Reposted from a removed post in Reddit November 2023. Apparently it was too controversial for Reddit.
This article is inspired by a question someone asked me about this morning. Its such a large and important topic I figured it needed to be an article rather than just a response. But for those Christians struggling with being a Medium, Psychic, or those who are heavy into spirituality — this should help relieve your worries and provide some signposts.
When I was 12 I got to stay with my grandparents for the summer. I was excited because it was the first time I spent any significant time with them. However by day four, I realized they didn’t know what to do with me. They weren’t used to having kids around any more and were very entrenched in their own lifestyle, and the veneer of them having an exciting lifestyle quickly faded. Alas, despite their successful status in life — they pretty much lived like everyone else.
Quickly spotting this incompatibility, my grandmother decided to remedy the situation. She made an agreement with her neighbor two doors down, whom I had met on several occasions, to visit her on the afternoon of the fourth day. Stella was as mad as a box of frogs — so I had no problem agreeing. Later that afternoon I sat down with her, and it wasn’t long before the conversation turned to the supernatural. It was that afternoon where I was introduced to Tarot cards.
I didn’t pay much attention to Tarot cards when I was younger. It was something I would run with for a few months and then put down for a good while. Strangely, as I got older, whenever I got into a difficult situation that couldn’t be clearly answered by myself or my friends — I would always lean on Tarot.
The problem was there is a ton of religion in my family, and the things that I had learned most certainly didn’t belong. I’m sure this is the case for many of you. My mother’s side was split between Roman Catholic and Anglican. My father’s side, Polish Jews, who left for New York in the late 1920's. Thanksgiving was fun! I ended up learning all of it, as much as I could retain. But it wasn’t until I really delved into the theology that I realize how supernatural scripture really is.
The Supernatural within Scripture
We’re going to get heavy with some verses for a quick moment, but for good reason. Most modern day Christian churches almost lean toward being secular. Let me explain. There is the Trinity, personified by JC, yet a lot of the really “far out” stuff is almost ignored. When the Bible describes demons, modern society almost thinks of them as sick people. The Witch of Endor in the Book of Samuel is rarely spoken of. The Watchers who roamed the Earth causing the great flood— its just a story for kids in Sunday school - giants don't exist. Or did they? But there are many things right off the bat within the Book that help the spiritual practitioners.
Genesis 1:6 — “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...” Who is the Creator speaking to when he says ‘us’ and ‘our’? He doesn’t mean the trinity because this is the beginning of creation - long before the Creators only begotten Son is sent to humanity. The Creator is speaking to other elohim (disembodied spirits), and what we later find out to be “the Divine Council” in Psalm 82:1.
Which is why, much later on, when Moses receives the Ten Commandments, the very first Commandment is “I am the Lord thy God… Thou shalt have no other gods before me”. We could go down a huge rabbit hole here, but suffice to say, even the Bible is saying that the realm of the spiritual is large. There are many gods (lower G), but none like the “the most high” — which is repeated many times in the Old Testament and by Jesus in the New Testament.
Scripture itself is saying the spiritual realm exists, and it is within our natural ability to communicate between the planes. However, for the Psychics and Mediums reading this, it means there are plenty of ways to go astray in the spiritual plane.
Staying safe in the spiritual plane or higher frequencies
Whether you want to call it a higher frequency, vibe or the spiritual plane — it doesn’t really matter. You can get wrapped up in the technicalities as long as you like. What’s far more important is what you do once you get there.
Much like our physical world, the spiritual world is multi faceted and there are many players. The most important aspect is to understand that there really is a Creator, and to not allow other entities, energies or spirits persuade you otherwise.
The spiritual realm is as much a part of our everyday reality as the physical world is. Psychic abilities are available to everyone — the only difference is some are open to the idea of it all and others are not. Psychics are just more open to this fact. One of the most common ways those with psychic abilities start treading in dangerous waters is they get convinced that they are special. It gets emphasized that they are specifically chosen for having a special ability. Eventually over time, when one goes down this route they are usually led to think they can act autonomously, that they are “powerful” enough that they don’t need any body — even God. Which of course is false.
The other most common problem is people jump in too quickly and begin serving other spirits or entities. They end up trusting them or believing everything they say, and even doing things for them. This would be putting something before the Creator. Indulging with anything like this is where one gets into the darker arts. I can’t help you there.
If you have read this far, and are still struggling - feel free to drop a contact form of DM me on Reddit anytime. There were plenty of Christian mystics in the bible, its just that modern society hides from it.
